Can a thread lift cause scar tissue? How will this affect the face?

I like to get some thoughts on threadlifts since some doctors hate it and some love it. I've heard from many that they do not last long and create scar tissues. Since i already have acne scars i don't want to deal with more scar tissues. I would appreciate your thoughts on this and what these scar tissues can do to face?

I gave up performing threadlifts quite a few years ago. They are expensive, engender post-treatment downtime, don't last much longer than results from fillers, and are plagued by an unacceptably high number of adverse reactions that include among others, the possibilities of infection, dimpling of the skin, extrusion of the stitches, etc. And, yes, if the aforementioned occur, scar tissue may result. It is for these reasons that I prefer the nonsurgical use of robust natural HA fillers for accomplishing what has come to be termed "the liquid facelift."  Hope this helps.

Threads placed in the face do have a role in certain situations. It can improve the contour of the jawline, cheeks, or brow in patients who have mild sagging and don't want surgery. It's true that they dissolve over time and usually last no more than a year, but you can always do it again. But they do not cause scarring of the skin. Some people feel that the threads can cause a little internal collagen formation that can give a longer term effect. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

Thread lifts use a dissolving material in the shape of a thread to pull the skin.  Then the thread dissolves.  If you are lucky, it creates some permanent scar tissue to give you a little bit of added volume or lift.  If it just goes away, you get nothing.  So, the scarring is the goal in a way.  But, the scarring is only desirable if in the right place.  And, there are much more effective and long lasting ways to get lift or improvement.  Threads tend to be used by spas or providers that are not doctors.
