If I have thin blood, can I still go through with my nose job?

In general, we advise patients to refrain from substances that can thin the blood. The following should be avoided for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery:1)Vitamin E2) NSAIDS3) Ibuprofen4) Aspirin5) Fish oil If my patients have repeated test with thin blood then I will send them to a hematologist for a work up of a bleeding disorder. I will not operate on a patient until I am sure it is safe. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck. 

 Thin blood could represent anemia or an anti-coagulated state. Both of these are treated differently. Best to seek out clearance from your family physician or hematologist prior to undergoing elective cosmetic surgery. A nose bleed in the postoperative period could make your blood" thinner". I think that if you are being told that your blood is thin(?), then you need to see a hematologist to be properly worked up. Often surgery can be coordinated with their recommendations.
