Hi.
Thank you for your question regarding whether an inner incision thigh lift will stretch the vagina. First of all, most accurately, it is a thigh reduction, not a thigh lift. Also, the inner incision within the groin area is called a crescent or a spiral thigh lift. Third, with a crescent or a spiral thigh reduction, if your plastic surgeon is not accurate in the placement of your permanent periosteal sutures, the sutures can lead to labial spread. This means the labia majora and the labia minora can spread open. This leads to the opening of the vagina or the introitus. Technically, the vagina is not stretched; however, the labia can be stretched with a crescent thigh reduction. Therefore, it is imperative that your plastic surgeon suture the inner thigh to at least scarpa's fascia or better to the pelvis periosteum. In my opinion, the best method of the crescent or spiral thigh lift is using permanent suture to attach the inner thigh to the pelvis bone or periosteum. This minimizes the chances of labial spread and scar migration. I hope that I have answered your question regarding whether an inner incision thigh lift will stretch the vagina.
