Thank you for your question. The Avelar Tummy Tuck is a limited approach procedure. Limited incision, limited undermining and limited results. A traditional Tummy Tuck addresses skin laxity, excess fat and the widened space between the rectus muscles. Unless one has limited goals a more comprehensive approach will have superior results. Good luck.
A tummy tuck (with muscle repair) would produce the best result in almost everyone.Find a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of tummy tucks each year, has great reviews, and has great before and after pictures.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
I agree with the other surgeon. Avelar is good for patients with extremely loose skin. It's a rarity to find a patient who is a good candidate for this procedure. Cheers
The tummy tuck procedure typically involves plication of the abdominal wall muscle that have spread during pregnancy or weight gain/loss. Omitting this part of the procedure will leave you with continued abdominal wall laxity and, in my opinion, a less than optimal result.Best wishes.
Unless you have a lot of loose abdominal skin, usually from a lot of weight loss, standard approaches to a tummy tuck create far superior results. Few patients are good candidates for the more limited avelar tummy tuck which is done with no skin undermining.
The Avelar TT simply uses liposuction to aggressively reduct the fat and then pulls the skin down without undermining. If you have looked at the published photos, the scars are extremely high as they must be when no undermining is done. That is not good for a cosmetic result where we want the scar to be hidden under a small swimsuit bottom. Stick with the standard technique, it is far superior.
Thank you for your post. Seromas can be painful and cause a cosmetic deformity, as well as sometimes leak. The whole point of drains is to keep a seroma from happening in the first place. If a drainless procedure was performed, and you had a seroma, or you had drains that were pulled and you...
Stretch marks from your rib cage all the way down to your pubic area will most likely require a full tummy tuck. That being said the stretch marks above your belly button will probably not be completely removed but will be moved down. Tummy tuck is a fabulous operation for the right person. It...
The scar is from the superficial sutures that were placed at the time of your surgery. The earlier these are removed, the less chance of 'Train track' scars. I disagree with the physicians who recommend a tattoo. Dermabrasion or Collagen Induction Treatment with a series of microneedling (I use...
