Can the bottom jaw be moved to the left/right? Could someone explain this procedure in layman's terms? Thank you so much!(Photo)

So I'm getting jaw surgery in two months, and I figured that I should fix my midline in addition to moving my bottom jaw forward. I see posts on forums that claim that their bottom jaw got shifted to the left/right a few mm to correct their midlines, but I can't find any more info. I know rubber bands work, but I really don't want to move my teeth since my orthodontist thinks my teeth are in a good position and shifting them could weaken them. So can your entire jaw just be shifted to the right?

Yes it is not uncommon to have the jaw grow differently and develop an asymmetrical jawline. Your bite would also be less ideal as a result. Correction with Invisalign and a jaw rotation surgery would be successful and is quite common.

Orthognathic surgery will not effect your singing. The air passing thru your vocal cords does not changeYour phonation or pronunciation may change short term, but you adjust quickly. I feel surgery would be an asset to you. It is a big commitment and requires you to be mentally prepared
