Combination procedures are nice in that you have one exposure to antithesia and one recovery. Before surgery with hepatitis C, you should be medically stable and have a clearance for surgery from your primary care doctor and Hepatologist. You should have the procedure done by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon that has experience in combined procedures.Yours,Jon M. Grazer, MD, MPH, FACS
If you can obtain medical clearance, you can be considered for surgery. Iwould search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel ismost likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds ofthese procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well asbefore and after photos on that surgeon's website.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
There are several considerations in a patient with hepatitis C. One is the health of the liver and the other is the transmissibility of the disease. If your surgeon and gastroenterologist think that the operation will be safe than you can proceed.
Thank you for the question. Best to check with your gastroenterologist/hepatologist; it is probable, after their “clearance” has been provided that you will be able to proceed. When the time is right, seek consultation with board certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with. It will be important for you to make sure that your anesthesiologist is aware of the condition as well. Best wishes.
It is possible, if you have normal liver function and if your Liver Specialist gives you medical clearance. Just be sure your surgeon is aware of the problem also.

Thank you for your question and photos. Based on what I see in the photos, your "before" photos look phenomenal, and it seemed like you didn't need to undergo a tummy tuck. You had great abdominal muscles and a toned stomach. On the other hand, recovery varies per individual. In your case,...
Thank you for your question. This is a common scenario with patients in my office. Ideally, some weight-loss would be beneficial, however, I understand that this is very difficult for most patients. My patients can expect to lose 15 to 20% of their body weight after a Lateral Tension...
