Just had a temporary crown put on front teeth. There is cement overlapping the gum line behind one of the teeth? Was my dentist supposed to clean that off? It doesn’t feel right.

Temporary crowns are just that, temporary. That is the ONLY thing that should be different about temps. They are made of plastic and not enamel / porcelain. Provisional teeth either mimic exactly what was there, or are better than what was there. These temps give you teeth to smile, laugh...
Hi:Unfortunately the discoloration at the gum line is due to the root of the tooth and the tooth being root canaled. Any remedy will be temporary since if there is any minor gum recession the discolored tooth will show up again.Best,Dr. Maddahi
