Should I get teeth implants instead of braces?

If orthodontics will be able to achieve your goals to your satisfaction, and assuming that your teeth are healthy, then I would recommend that you choose that option. Although it is a lengthy procedure, keep on mind that you are young and there is no substitute for Mother Nature. Once the treatment is complete, you will have your own teeth to enjoy for the rest of your life. As far as wearing retainers, you will very likely have the option of a cemented retainer for your lower teeth.  Being that you have an open bite, there is a good possibility that you will also be given the option of a recemented retainer for your top teeth as well. I hope that you found this information helpful,Dr Champagne

Without seeing photos or doing a clinical exam it is not possible to really give you a good answer. However, 24 years old is not too old for braces. I have done braces on patients in their 70's. Also the thumb sucking put orthodontic like forces on your teeth and it sounds like braces are needed to move them back into their proper positions. I would definitely avoid implants in a case like yours and believe me, I do a lot of implants.
