Tazorac Short Contact Therapy for Aging Skin?

I was wondering if Tazorac short contact therapy is effective to treat aging of the skin? Or does it need to make contact with the skin for a prolonged period to build collagen? Thanks

Tazorac (Tazarotene) is part of a family of compounds known as retinoids.  These include other well known topicals such as tretinoin (Retin-A, Renova) and adapalene (Differin).  These compounds are effective for reversing the effects of sun induced aging--- they reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin color, texture and tone.

	Tazorac has long been considered the most potent of the retinoids.  All retinoids cause dryness and redness during the initial 1-2 months of treatment as your skin acclimates to the medicine.  Short contact tazorac is used to limit irritation during this adjustment phase.  Even with these short contact times, some Tazorac penetrates deeply into the skin, causing epidermal and dermal rejuvenation.  With longer application time, you will allow greater penetration of the chemical, and eventually greater results.
