I never cease to be amazed by the power of advertising and marketing to sway public opinion. Unfortunately, to date, most of the expensive, so-called "energy-based devices," like fraxels, RF devices, etc., are backed far more by device manufacturer marketing hype than hard science. So, be very cautious, and exercise a whole lot of "buyer beware" when evaluating claims for these approaches. A variety of HA fillers, on the other hand, each with its on uses, are being used successfully to treat each of the problems shown in the photos. A robust, lifting HA filler injected appropriately in the cheeks, for example, would create a more heart-shaped feminine face and would secondarily diminish the smile lines. Another HA filler injected appropriately at the corners of the mouth would diminish the marionette lines and straighten the downturning angles of the mouth. Robust HA fillers could be used to straighten and define the jawline (and hence diminish the sagging and jowl formation), as would HA chin augmentation, the latter further improving the jawline, as well as harmonizing the projection of the chin with that of the lips and nose. And, finally, HA skin boosters along with less robust HA fillers can help to tighten the neck and diminish crepeyness and the horizontal "necklace lines." And, what's more, in experienced hands, all of this, if so desired, can be done in one treatment session with immediate results that typically engender a "Wow!" reaction. Make sure to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
