Is this the start of double bubble, or is my implant dropping into pocket? (Photo)

Question

I am concerned I have the start of a double bubble on my left breast. However it is above the incision. The skin feels very firm there and it's giving the breast a funny shape. 3 weeks post op 360cc on left 390cc on right dual plane.

Hello, if you had different breast implants inserted on each side, presumably there was a difference in size and/or shape before surgery.  You might notice that one side looks different than the other during healing.  Often this will improve with time but I would recommend ongoing followup with your plastic surgeon.

At this point in your recovery, it is much too soon to be
worried about the outcome.  It takes time for the implants to settle into
position and the skin and muscle to stretch out to accommodate the new implant.
 It may be 6 months or more before the shape has reached its final
look.  Be patient.

I would not worry much at this point as your breast tissue will stretch and settle over time. You will not achieve your final result until 3 to 6 months after surgery. Continue to follow up with your surgeon, but you look like you should get a nice result and your tissue will likely relax and the deformity that you see will desappear.

Thank you for your question.You are very early in the healing process.  The implant needs more time to drop in to place and become more natural looking.  If over the next few weeks you notice this getting worse instead of better, please contact your surgeon.

Take additional photos from the side and have someone else help you.  I do not agree with lowering the IMF as I have seen in hundreds of women the double bubble phenomenon when this is done, especially as to aid in placing a larger textured implant.  Take additional photos, wait for 12 weeks from the day of surgery, and do not do any running or massage.  This should allow for stable healing and then revisit with your surgeon.

Hi Rebecca, Thank you for sharig your question and photos.  You're still in the early stages of healing, however I feel strongly this warrants an in person exam with your operative surgeon.  He or she will appreciate the open communication.  They'll most likely recommend avoiding all exercise, especially high impact sports as well as any massage.
