I’m not a candidate for Brazilian Butt Lifts because, of my medical history. I got Sculptra hip fillers in July - it’s November now and, there’s been no growth in my hip dips like they promise. (If you're thinking about Sculptra BBL save your MONEY!). There is a licensed specialist in my area who performs Non-Surgical BBL w/dermal fillers (Hyaluronic Acid). I’m very interested in this procedure for my hip dips. How long does it usually last?
Answer: Hyaluronic acid no better than Sculptra for butt/hip augmentation I have unfortunately had many patients come to me after having their high hopes for buttock augmentation crushed by measly Sculptra results or other "fillers" such as Renuva and Juvederm, etc. Other than the fact that these are not FDA approved for buttock injections, here are some critical points of awareness: 1) they all are temporary, lasting 1.5 - 2 years at very most, 2) if done correctly dermal fillers like Sculptra ir Renuva are cost prohibitive for 99% of potential buttock augmentation patients. In order to create a significant/noticeable result with a dermal filler, at least 200 mls of product must be injected into each buttock cheek for a total of 400 mls. At $1000 per ml, this equates to a minimum price of $400,000.00. Thus if your doctor is recommending to put in ONLY 20 or 40 mls of these fillers you will pay $20,000-$40,000 and get an insignificant miniscule result! (eg. like a “drop in the ocean” effect), 3) Do not let anybody tell you that the product is so special that it's going to magically grow over the following months or years...this just doesnt happen to any noticeable degree!, 4) dermal fillers, when injected in large quantities, have a relatively high infection rate, guaranteed tendency to migrate away from the original area they were injected into, and almost always stimulate a lot of inflammation with a subsequent and disastrous amount of scar tissue/hardening, and 5) the one very serious complication that can rarely (< 1%) happen is "embolism" in which some of the filler gets into the blood stream and travels up into the lungs, heart, and/or brain causing serious problems, including death. The only relatively safe, reliable, and permanent option for buttock and hip dip augmentation is with implants.

Answer: Hyaluronic Acid Fillers for Braziliian Butt Lift Hi and thank you for your question! There are many different types of Hyaluronic acid fillers with varying longevity ranging from several months to 2 years so the answer of your question really depends on the type of HA filler you choose. This being said, I am somewhat surprised that you did not see good results from Sculptra as it is generally the preferred filler for buttocks. If I may ask, did you follow the recommended dose and number of treatments (since most patients need several vials of Sculptra over a couple of sessions for best results)? Also, since Sculptra is a stimulatory filler that needs a couple of months to work and it works gradually, it might be difficult to spot the improvements unless you do a picture comparison from the baseline and several months later. Hopefully if you compare the pictures you will be able to to see the differences (if any). I hope it helps and good luck!

Answer: My recommendation Dear Vanity300k, Thank you for your question. In my experience dermal fillers are not a good option for BBL surgery, you will need a lot of fillers to get an improvement and effects will last just few months. Make sure you go on consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks! Dr. Luis Mejia.

Answer: Hyaluronic acid in hips While in theory this sounds like a good idea, HA filler in the hips will require an absurd number of syringes. You may not have gotten enough vials of sculptra to see results. Usually for hip dips my patients start with at least 10 vials and sometimes need even more to achieve their desired result. Also keep in mind that HA fillers will only last you 6 - 12 months.
