I already had my consultation where I looked at various sizes, but I'm still not sure. I liked the 450ccs until I tried the 500ccs, but now I'm not sure. I'm dont want to look completely unnatural (I know "natural" differs with everyone), and don't want to go too big (or too small for that matter). The surgeon couldn't really give me a good idea as to what cup size those ccs might put me at, so I'm really just not sure. Thank you!
Answer: #bestbreastimplant size for my #breastaugmentation #plasticsurgery Thank you for sharing your excellent question on breast implant sizing and bra cup size. In general few plastic surgeons (including your operative surgeon) will guarantee a cup size. This is because bra manufacturers all differ in their measurements and there is no standard for what correlates to cup size to implant cc's. Consider doing another implant sizer try on session if you're still unsure as to which implant to choose. While this method is not exact, it can at least give you an idea of your final result. Some patients also enjoy the 3-D visualization system. I wish you all the best and hope this has been helpful. Brian S. Coan, MD, FACS

Answer: How many ccs would I possibly need? There is not a good correlation between how many cc's you add to your breast and how many cup sizes you increase. We have patients try on sizers in a stretch bra, and this gives us an idea of what volume they would like to add to their breasts, but the other "variable in the equation" is how that volume will look in you...whether your tissues are looser and pliable and the implant will look fairly natural, or whether they are tight and a large implant will "balloon" up to your clavicle and look very unnatural, or whether a safe closure of the incision is even possible. Your tissues and your anatomy must be taken into account. That is why we have patients show us with photos off the web how much upper pole fullness they desire (or will accept), and we try the patient's chosen volume of implant in the pocket at surgery to verify that the desired size will be consistent with the shape that the patient wants. If it is too tight and more unnatural than the patient desires, they have given us permission to go down in size step by step as needed.
