Will Smart Lipo of the chin give me the results I’m looking for? (photos)

Question

29 year old female 193 lbs 5’ 5”. I am interested in having chin liposuction. I have attached a few pictures with multiple angles. I would like an opinion on if chin liposuction will address the areas I circled in a couple of the photos. My concern is that my face seems short and wide already, and that reducing my double chin will make it seem even more wide. Thank you!

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from chin liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

You will need an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon to determine if the bulge under your chin is just fat, submandibular gland, large digastric muscles or a combination of the above. The majority of patients seeking chin and neck Liposuction have an under developed mandible.  it may not be an abnormality but simply a genetic trait.  when the mandible  is small in comparison to the maxilla the underlying platysma muscle drapes the neck differently and patients lose jawline definition, develop a double chin and can show premature jowls.

Unfortunately a chin implant or sliding genioplasty does not reposition the platysma muscle though it can balance out skeletal imbalance.

Liposuction is probably the best and most straightforward procedure to get what you’re hoping for.

It typically does not create around her looking face but can reduce double chin and create Jawline definition that can be quite impressive.

The approach varies a bit from surgeon to surgeon so I suggest having multiple in person consultation with local board-certified plastic surgeons to find one you think does the best job with this procedure.

There is no particular advantage to any one type of liposuction or any one brand of equipment.

She was the surgeon based on their inherent skill and experience.

Plastic surgeons have the tools they need to do their job correctly.

you should get a nice improvement to your central upper neck from smartlipo. this is more accurate and predictable than Kybella. also there will be way less inflammation from smartlipo. you will continue to improve for 6 months after smartlipo so be patient. i would only make you wear a neck garment for 5 days at night since you have very good skin tone. the scar will only be 2mm and will be almost invisible. you can return to work the next day. you should have very little discomfort after the procedure. 
see a board certified plastic surgeon with a special interest in smartlipo.
