Is jaw surgery not an option because of my vertical maxillary excess (VME) but class 1 bite?

A doctor said I am not an orthodontic case. What do I do? A doctor concluded my case wasn't an orthodontic one due to my normal bite, but he also said I have a flat, retruded maxilla, which is aesthetically displeasing for my face. VME, 0 cheek projection, narrow palate, etc. I want to do something about my face, but I'm so lost.

I wouldn’t do orthognathic surgery in this case. Sliding genioplasty would be more than enough to fix the minor problem.

Thank you for the question. It is a common occurrence for the ala width to be wider following LeFort surgery so most surgeons control this by placing ala cinch sutures at the end of the surgery. The end result should be no difference between before and after surgery in regards to the width.
