Was hit in the face 2.5 weeks post op rhinoplasty. Is my nose damaged? (photo)

Question

I was hit in the nose by my friend accidentally. (They went to hi5 another friend, I was sitting between them, the momentum from his hand meant that his hand smacked me right in the tip of my nose) It was harder than a tap, enough to make my stitches bleed (mind you my nose did get infected aroun 1.5 wks post op, I was on antibiotics but most the infection had cleared) It’s a bit swollen and hurt for a bit after, I’m concerned that I’ve damaged my nose I can still touch it with minimal pain

Great question!  It is difficult to tell from the photos.  2.5 is still very early in the healing phase and early enough for a slap to the face to potentially crease issues.  You should get an appointment to see your surgeon as soon as you can for him/her to examine you.Best of luck and hope this information helps!

Hi,At 2 weeks the tissue is still healing and it possible to cause damage. i would notify your surgeon and seek their opinion.Jeremy Hunt

I am so sorry you hurt your nose.  Anytime you experience trauma in the early stages of healing, damage can be done.  I encourage you to see your surgeon as soon as possible.
