The time between a consultation and scheduling surgery depends on several factors. Do you want insurance to pay for the procedure? If so, it could take weeks or months to get approval from your insurance carrier. You can speed that process by having documentation that you have symptoms caused by the size of your breasts, such as letters from a chiropractor, physical therapist, or orthopedic surgeon. Our office gets written approval from the insurance company before scheduling because of the unpredictability of the process. If you plan to pay for your procedure, how quickly you can be scheduled will depend on availability of your surgeon's schedule.Be sure and see a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced with breast reduction. This is a very gratifying procedure for both surgeon and patient because most patients have significant symptom relief along with a cosmetic improvement in their breasts.
Hi Rozj1799,Thank you for your question. Depending on the surgeons availability and the pre operative requirements you could have your surgery as soon as the next week.
Very hard to advise how to get parents to allow a child to obtain a BR surgery. Best to discuss openly with them. Than seek in person consultations with only boarded PSs in your area of FL.
Do you have pain and discomfort in the area with menstrual cycle ? It might be worthwhile to call your insurance and see their criteria for covering this surgery, in the past I have had success with getting this covered, does depend on your particular insurance though. Good luck
If the erectile muscle in the nipple is still functioning, the likelihood that sensation returns is very good - it can take several months though, so be patient.
