Very uneven buttock implants (submuscle): What to do - Replace them with smaller +subfacial flater implants on top? (Photo)

  500 cc implants placed in a submuscular plane would be a great deal of volume.  Placing implants that are even larger in a more superficial position should make the implants even more visible.  I would have to examine you to determine what I would recommend.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

In my experience, putting the implants under the muscle is safer for the patient and has less risk of encapsulation (hardening of the capsule surrounding the implant). It looks as though your left implant has not yet been accommodated by your buttock muscle. Check with your surgeon to see if he or she layers fat over the top of the implants once your healed. That in my opinion has the greatest volume and outcome.Melinda Lacerna, MD, FACS
