How did I get a third degree burn from my breast reduction operation? (photos)

Did a breast reduction and a roccection in local anasthic 1 year post op. Noticed bleeding from bilisters under the brasts after a few days and called the surgeons office. He told me I had a third degree burn. After 1,5 week the blisters turned hard and went black. I lost all feeling underneth mu breasts. He called me late one day and Said he wanted me to come in emideatly to remove all the black skin and so I did after work that day. enyone know what happend to me?

Unfortunately it's not possible to give you a clear explanation of what happened. This could be a burn. If it was a burn, the only way that this could have happened would be if during surgery a diathermy was used - an instrument we use to stop bleeding. However, this called also represent necrosis of the skin due to pressure or excessive tightening, medical conditions you might have, or other pressures from other materials such as a very tight bra. Your surgeon will be the best person to ask as they will know which technique was used.

Thank you for your question. After a breast reduction, sometimes the skin has issues with healing and results in the purplish areas which progressed and now that that tissue has been cleared away, you will be able to heal and still have a great result.
