It can take up to 6 months to start to see results with Finasteride.  I suggest seeing a hair loss expert to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. Finasteride is never my first choice in a young man because of its well-known side effects on reducing libido. That said, almost every treatment for hair loss takes a minimum of 3-4 months to work. Six months is a very adequate trial. I assume yo are taking a 1 mg tablet. If so, I cannot explain why your scalp is burning or itchy. If you do have sexual side-effects, stop immediately.    

For an expert opinion you should consult with or visit a hair restoration surgeon or someone who specializes specifically in the hair loss field. Regarding Finasteride, you want to give it at least 6 months of use to determine if it is working for you.
