Should I have this mole removed/biopsied on breast?? I just had a breast augmentation so I really don't want it removed! (photo)

Question

I have this mole on my left breast. I dont think it has changed much over the years, but I also don't pay that close of attention to it. I am 21 years old and have already had 5 dysplastic nevi cut off in my life. I really do not want this mole taken off because I just had breast implants 2 months ago and dont want to mess them up/have complications. Could I get away with monitoring it or do you think it looks suspicious and should come off?

Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But it’s good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. Our office specializes in non-surgical mole removal.

If you are concerned about a mole, or it has symptoms like itching, burning, pain or bleeding, please do not hesitate and have it removed.  Please go to a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in mole removal and lasers so you can limit the scarring.  Best, Dr. Emer.

The picture is difficult to see but the mole looks dark and
irregular and if it appeared suddenly or changed recently, it is best to get it
looked at by your dermatologist and determine if a biopsy is needed. In
addiiton, if there any worrisome features or symptoms like itching, burning,
pain or bleeding, do not hesitate and have it removed sooner than later. A
biopsy would give you a definitive answer if it benign or cancerous and
follow-up would be determined based on the result.

It's perfectly safe to have a mole removed by the shave excision method after a breast augmentation. With this method the mole is actually "shaved off" at a level
just below the superficial layers of the skin. The tissue that has been removed can then be
sent for microscopic examination to make sure the mole is benign. It is difficult to tell from your photograph if the mole looks suspicious. Best to have it examined if you're concerned, especially with your history of dysplastic nevi which increases your risk of having a skin cancer. You should be having routine skin exams every six months.
