Can you successfully lighten areolas and private parts with laser?

I have been very insecure about my areolas and private parts because of how much drker they are than the rest of my body. My question is will they turn back to their dark color after having a lot of laser lightening treatments? Is there another more effective way like using ointment with hydriochloric acid?

This is difficult to answer without pictures and needs an in-person evaluation. Hyperpigmentation can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/(RF/)PRP, skin lightening, peels, and skin care (hydroquinone). Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question.  First, I would like to say that there is no "correct look" for these areas.  Everyone looks a little different, but that is OK.  If it effects your self esteem, than maybe should seek treatment.  We have been extremely successful treating these areas with our PicoSure laser using both the Flat and FOCUS lens.  It normally takes a short series of treatments, but is very effective with each one.  Some of this pigment is probably hormone related, so it may return.  Be diligent with sunscreen, even under your bikini if this is a problem.Would you really want to put anything with an ACID on your private areas?  We are constantly asked to help fix home remedies that go awry.  Best of luck.
