Can my nose look smaller with a chin implant? (photos)

Im considering a chin implant, I have also thought about a nosejob. But dont know if that is nessecary , my question is - could a chin implant help my nose look smaller?

A chin implant can make the nose appear smaller.  The nose and chin have a major impact on the profile appearance, and altering one can affect the appearance of the other.

Yes, a chin implant will help create a stronger profile and improve your jawline and facial proportion. When well placed by an expert, a chin implant can last for decades or a lifetime. It is possible. I suggest beginning with an in-person consultation to discuss your options. During your initial examination, your #chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. Also, #liposuction under the chin is also another option your doctor can discuss. If you are not a candidate for chin or neck rejuvenation at the time of your #consultation, your board certified plastic surgeon can recommend alternatives to address your concern. 
However, there may be additional options to improve the appearance of your concern to improve the overall balance of your face. Such can be best evaluated in-person. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in #face, #neck and #chin procedures is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible.

    Thank you so much for your question! Your are right on the money with your question! Due to the posterior position of your chin (gonial or mandibular hypoplasia) your nose looks more prominent. I really enjoy placing facial implants and they can create an amazing and immediate change for my patients. I think I’m your case a chin implant would provide you with better facial balance and your nose would then appear less prominent. I would definitely consider the chin implant prior to deciding on a rhinoplasty!
Once you decide what you want then you need to look at who will do it!  When it comes to deciding on treatment my best recommendations are to meet your prospective surgeon, check out their facility, review their photo galleries either in the office or online and lastly if you feel the need speak to their prior patients. Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants and Rhinoplasty for over 30 years.  The answer is "yes".  When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  From the photos, your nose is the proper aesthetic size on profile but your chin is very weak making the nose appear large and out of balance with the face.
 Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.
