“Regular” .025 tretinoin cream or compounded version?

I am getting ready to begin use of tretinoin for anti-aging. I am 32. I do not have active acne but I do consider myself to have sensitive skin prone to breakouts. I’ve been given a prescription for .025 tretinoin cream but I’m wondering if a “compounded” version with other ingredients such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, etc with the .025 tretinoin would be better to start with ? Or is the tube if “regular” tret cream just as good?

If you have sensitive skin, additional ingredients such as niacinamide and hyaluronic acid will help. However, if you've already purchased a regular 0.025% tretinoin , that's okay too. Cream is more hydrating than gel, so it's better to start with cream first. Start with a pea sized amount to the entire face just twice a week. You can even blend the pea size amount with a hydrating moisturizer (niacinamide or hyaluronic acid can be in the moisturizer), and then moisturize additionally on top. Do these steps for 2 week increments, increasing the frequency every 2 weeks as tolerated. This is a good way to build tolerance to tretinoin.
