Will Latisse grow hair on empty spots of eyelashes? (Photo)

Question

I’ve been losing my eyelashes on one of my eyes and I’m not seeing any growth of eyelashes and I’m also not sure about what’s causing that to happen. Will latisse help grow eyelashes that have not been grown yet or does only make lashes that are already grown to make them longer?

Using LATISSE can be great for improving the thickness and fullness of the lashes that you already have. However, it's not intended to help lashes grow where none currently exist, or help absent lashes grow back. Your photo seems to indicate broken eyelashes, so LATISSE may help strengthen and thicken those lashes to prevent further breakage. It's important to get an accurate diagnosis before proceeding.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  If your missing spot of eyelashes still has the relevant hair follicles present Latisse should help with their regrowth.  If the hair follicles have been damaged then Latisse will likely not work.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question.It may help to stimulate growth, it definitely will not hurt anything to try. If the hair follicles are still active it can help speed up regrowth. If the hair follicles are not active the Latisse will not change anything.

It's important to always keep in mind that Latisse is FDA approved for only one type of eyelash change: eyelash hypotrichosis. The photo is not a picture of eyelash hypotrichosis and in fact has several possible diagnosis. I can't stress enough the importance of proper diagnosis in these situations. In addition to a comprehensive review of one's medical information and an full scalp and eyebrow exam (as well) ... blood tests are essential.
