What is better for fixing indents from deep acne scars, Bellafil or Restylane/Juvaderm?

I have deep acne scars and i am light skin most are red. Im wondering what would be the filler that gives most immediate improvement ? Also does any Dr's in NY do mini facelifts for acne scars ? I stretch my cheeks and most flatten so im not sure why not many Drs would offer that if thats what the patient is ineterested in ? It makes me think that they dont want us to have good results with mini facelift because then they wouldn't get as much money for multiple treatments down the road. :-(

Fillers like juvederm can be reversed and bellafill cannot, I suggest you speak to your physician.  Long term bellafill is great as its more permanent but requires multiple treatments to ensure no overfilling.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Your scars may benefit from silicone injections if they are broad, and depressed. Facelifting may not be a treatment for acne scarring, since facelifting tightens the deep tissues, not the skin. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

I would not initially recommend filler for scarring. Our approach would be a more permanent result using PRP injections, not just microneedling, to rejuvenate the collagen to the area & also Ematrix facial resurfacing. I would not recommend a facelift for acne scarring. Always best to schedule a consultation with your nearest experienced provider.

Thank you for your question. There are a variety of treatments available to treat acne scars and the best treatment does depend on the severity of your acne scars as well as your skin type.  I have seen great improvement with PicoSkin + PRP + Microneedling  and sometimes a filler. Individual results vary.  You most definitely do not need a facelift for acne scars.  Fillers are temporary solution. Laser treatments are permanent.  You need to be patient to see results and need to find an expert that you trust.  Best. Dr.Avaliani

Acne scars are best handled by a combination approach and to a large extent this depends on the type of acne scar.  For depressed acne scars, subcision (breaking up subcutaneous scar tissue) and injection of a facial filler is very helpful. Restylane or Juvederm would certainly work for acne scars and Bellafill is specifically approved for treatment of depressed acne scars. 
  
A mini-facelift might be appropriate as well. It really depends on co-existing facial issues. Suffice it to say that a facial surgeon would recommend a facelift if they thought it was indicated. 
  
You mentioned that most of your acne scars are red. This suggests that there may be a role for laser or IPL in management of your acne scarring as well. 
  
The best approach would be to find a practitioner who is an expert on handling acne scars.

Agree with Dr Emer, you do need a face to face consult. Yes, face lifts can help, as the scars you describe are DISTENSIBLE, ie. atrophic and anchored, however its not the only solution. I see at least 2-3 patients per week who have had facelifts from other specialist to address scars, when the solution is to actually treat the INDIVIDUAL scar with subcision- filler techniques.
