I am about to have 17 decent teeth extracted due ongoing gastric/malnutrition absorption issues from gastric bypass. I was told I have good bone. Ive already lost molars on all sides & arches.I’ve been reaching out for years and just wasn’t able to get the help. So now this is my only option & I’m scared because I have already lost so much joy when it comes to eating. I want to make sure I am planning this best way. I cry every day & night but this is all I can afford now.
Answer: Extractions Implants Dentures Hi Warriorstrong,We typically place implants at the time of extraction. By doing both at the same time, you only go through one surgery and your body had only to heal the one time. With our 4M Dental Implant procedure we would, the same day as the extraction/implant placement, fix you with a set of temporary teeth while your bone was healing from the procedures. Once you're all healed you would then receive your final set of new teeth.Hope this helps!

Answer: Extraction and implants Hi:One of the options available is to do the extractions and place implants and secure the denture to the implants. This procedure is called all on 4. The teeth will be replaced after 4-6 months once the healing is complete.Best,Dr. Maddahi

Answer: Extractions Dentures All On 4 With limited knowledge of your current situation and your 17 "decent" teeth, I'll give you a dentists' perspective.First, if you can save your teeth and do crowns etc, I find most patients are happier with real teeth. Second, if you feel for your health and that financially you must remove all your teeth and get plastic teeth, understand that your dentist will do everything they can to help ease the transition but some patients do fine with dentures and others continue to be plagued with continued problems the rest of their lives. There is usually no way the dentist can know which one you are and you have to OWN your decision and don't look back and be confident you are going to make it work.Third, Nobel Biocare protocol, I am sure you have researched the All On 4 procedure:"The All-on-4 ® treatment concept is a cost-efficient, graftless solution that provides patients with a fixed full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery."Fourth, Your situation is unique to you and your dentist will customize treatment specifically for you and your mouth and your requests which can vary. Example: Sequential extractions (removing some teeth/leaving others for later removal etc), Full extractions with immediate implants and hybrid dentures, or full extractions and immediate dentures with later implants.Do not rush your treatment and make sure you are comfortable with your treatment options and your dentists bed side manner then enjoy your new smile.

Answer: Converting dentures to All-On_Four You have many options and converting dentures to All-On-Four type restorations should be an okay solution. I use such a restoration as a temporary fix while a more durable hybrid denture is manufactured. I would suspect that the solution which you are describing will not last a long time, but will last for a while. You should make plans to eventually have it done the right way.
