Answer: Laser Removal of Permanent Makeup Thank you for your question. I do not recommend having laser removal on tattooed makeup. This is because most of the ink used for tattoo makeup is not the same as used on the body as they contain metals, such as iron. This can result in the tattoo turning a rusty brown or black color. It is always recommended to thoroughly research your physician before treatment. Best of Luck!

Answer: Eyebrow Tattoo Removal Laser removal of tattooed makeup can be particularly challenging because the inks used are different than the ink for body or decorative tattoos . Often times the patient (and the person applying the tattoo makeup) don't have a good idea of the exact ingredients in the ink. Many of the inks used in tattooed makeup contain iron, which when lasered can oxidize and turn the tattoo into a rusty brown or black color. This is why I don't perform laser tattoo removal of tattooed makeup at my practice. With many repeated laser treatments this oxidized pigment can fade over time, but it will likely take several treatments. This is why it is very important to thoroughly research the provider you choose for any time of laser treatment.

Answer: Eyebrow tattoo Unfortunately inks used in these cosmetic tattoos often contain metals (iron oxides) which change color and can, in the end, turn orange. Therefore we advise against using a laser. Also hair loss will occur but may grow back to some extent. It is unfortunate that your laser technician didn't advise you before treatment. I suggest you be patient, allow some time to see the end result. In some cases an experienced cosmetic tattoo practitioner can ink in flesh tone to help cover discoloration. All the best

Be sure your practitioner has experience in permanent make-up removal and the ability to answer questions like the ones you’ve posed here. It’s important that you contact him or her to get your questioned answered.
