My bonded tooth feels rough and unnatural. Any suggestions?

I got a tooth bonded 5 months ago. I had a small chip on the side of my front tooth. My dentist said he needed to trim more of the tooth to do the bonding/filling so I said ok. When He put the bonding on, I couldnt feel my mouth for the whole day because I had 3 fillings done that day. I feeled it the next day and it felt very rough and unnatural. I figured it would go down so I tried and felt it again 3 months later and it still feels unnatuaral and rough. And tooth chipped again What can I do

If the filling feels rough you should return to your dentist and have it further polished.  We have the ability to make the bonding feel smooth.  It has been way too long so it will not happen on its own

If the filling feels rough you should return to your dentist and have it further polished.  It is normal to have a slight sand paper feel for 24-48 hrs after the filling but should feel nice and slick after that.  Don't wait next time.

You have a tooth that is unnatural feeling. You have waited 3 months for it to smooth down.  What there is to do is to go back to that office and get it 1. smoothed off and 2.  chip refilled.  Make sure your bite, both tapping on your teeth (bite) and moving your teeth around on each other (function) feel normal and have no new bumps nor any discomfort to it. Look in a mirror and make sure you are satisfied with the treatment.  Finally feel the area with your tongue to be completely satisfied. All of this should be done with no charge to you. Good Luck!
