Help! My doctor placed ear cartilage at my nasal root. How can this be removed?

Unhappy my rhinoplasty results, specifically the nasal root. My surgeon added harvested ear cartilage and placed it into my nasal root to add volume. This turned out badly. It looks like a big bump above my nose. I sought the help of a different surgeon, and he removed as much of the cartilage as he could. However, some pieces of the cartilage still remain as if they are glued there. Is there any way to completely remove the cartilage? I'm afraid it has been glued too tightly.

You should be able to correct your problem with revisional rhinoplasty. Secondary rhinoplasty can be quite difficult due to scar tissue formation, but the offending cartilage can be removed . If there is still a deformity, additional grafting may be necessary. Since you have already had two surgical procedures without acceptable results, I would suggest consulting a surgeon who has a great deal of experience in revisional rhinoplasty to avoid further disappointment. Cartilage can be removed, however, with every rhinoplasty there will be additional scar tissue forming, making additional surgery more challenging. Be sure you choose a surgeon with experience in performing rhinoplasty. Best,Pejman
