I started taking Accutane 60mg every day since september last year, i was also on a contraceptive. i have just found out that i am 18 weeks pregnant, i took the accutane from 3 months and then stopped for about 3 months due to healt insurance issues. I have had a scan and the doc says my baby is physically fine bt have to do tests to determine if the chromosomes of the baby are normal. please help with an answer

Discuss with your doctor but I would recommend a lower starting dose of 20 mg to be increased by 20 mg per month to 60 mg in month three. This may decrease side effects and still allow you to achieve clearance.

The dose should be gradually raised up to 1-2 mg per kilogram of daily dosage. If the dose is low it should be raised .If you are on higher dose and it is still flaring they may need to temporarily lower the dose and gradually raise it.
