My new top Invisalign tray doesn't match up with my attachment on one tooth. Will this fix itself?

I just started my last set of aligners and have realized that my attachment on one tooth doesn't fit into its spot on the top aligner (it's slightly above the spot). I haven't had to replace this attachment at all, so why is it not fitting in anymore? Will this make my tooth move the wrong way? Did I not wear my last aligner long enough (4 weeks)? Or should it eventually fix itself?

Based on your description, I would recommend returning to your dentist, so that he/she can take a look at your attachment and tray to determine whether either needs to be adjusted or not.  It is usually very important for attachments to match up properly, but in some cases, certain attachments are not as important near end of treatment.  Good luck and I hope this helps. When an aligner stops fitting over an attachment, that tooth will no longer track with the rest of the teeth. Usually this occurs due to an aligner not being pushed all the way down over the attachment and at the time it is so slight that it is not noticed. As more aligners are used as time goes on, it becomes more visible. The only way to correct this is to have a refinement done which simply means new impressions sent to the lab to have precise aligners made, and now you would continue from there. Most cases allow for a refinement without any additional charge. Check with your dentist or orthodontist to get this done. Good luck.
