When I smile, the muscle between my eyebrows bulges outward. Can Botox correct this? (photos)

When people frown, the muscles in their forehead (between the eyebrows) indent. When I smile, the muscle bulges outward. I feel like it makes my face really bumpy and it terrifies me to give a big smile in photos. Can Botox correct this? My brow bone also sticks out a bit... would this be the cause?

Hello and thank you for your question. Yes! Botox can soften your Procerus muscle which is causing you the issue. I would recommend injection into the Glabellar complex. Three muscles, Procerus and two corrugators. These are easily blocked with 20 units of Botox. Visit a qualified injector and give it a go! Best of luck to you.

Yes. Botox works by selectively weakening the muscles of facial expression. Treatment of the muscles in your mid-brow area should give a noticeable softening which will last for several months. Lola. Thanks for the question. Botox is specific for hyperactive muscle
activity, and one of the more common results of over active facial muscle activity is the
formation of a bulge (in addition to the indentions you mentioned, which are
also common). On the other hand, a bulge between the eyebrows caused by
prominent bone would cause a bulge both when you are relaxed, and when you
smile. Therefore, if the bulge only occurs during smiling, then it would probably
be correctable using Botox. I hope this helps. Regards

Yes, those muscles that you see bulging between your eyebrows are your corrugators and procerus.  They are responsible for your "11's", or the vertical wrinkles between your eyebrows.  Botox works excellent in this area and it's one of the most common places/reasons for botox.   Make sure you see a board certified plastic surgeon and not an "injector" who took a weekend class and online test.  Experience and training matters.

The chances are very good that you'll notice either complete correction or dramatic improvement from the use of Botox.  Repeated use over time may actually thin the muscle as well.  I highly recommend that you try botulinum (either Botox or Xeomin) and see how helpful it can be. Botox would be the easiest treatment to reduce the bulging muscle with animation. If you're not satisfied with the improvement you can also have the fullness of the bone above your brows reduced with orbital bony contouring to improve the contour of the frontal bone tgiving you a more feminine appearance.
