What is the best way to layer products?

What is the best am/pm protocol for layering skin ceuticals CE, skin ceuticals Reversatrol BE, TNS advanced serum, tretonin, HA serum and moisturizer? I am adding the TNS serum to my skin care My usual routine is AM: CE serum, followed by HA and moisturing sunscreen PM: Reverstrol, tretonin, moisturizer

Hello, Drea! This is Landry, an esthetician at Aesthetic Skin - Winnetka. Here is my advice on your skin care concerns:

Your usual AM and PM routine is admirable! You're following a great protocol for yourself as well as layering appropriately. The addition of TNS can be used in both the morning and evening with blending together on the back of the hand before applying to your skin.

If you wanted to cut down on the number of products used, I would check to see if your moisturizing sunscreen already contains Hyaluronic Acid. If it does, you can go ahead and omit the HA serum. My recommendations with TNS for night would be to incorporate TNS before Tretinoin but after Resveratrol. However, unless a barrier needs to be created with the Tretinoin to reduce irritation, I do not see a need to use moisturizer after the application of vitamin A.

In conclusion, the addition of TNS should be used before moisturizers, sunscreens and retinoids. If wanting to cut down on products used, omit HA serum in the day if moisturizing sunscreen already contains ingredient and omit the use of moisturizer at night after Tretinoin unless using as a barrier precaution.
