Dents and craters on face - what skin laser/treatment do you recommend? (Photos)

im having some dents and craters on my face coming out recently and i havent really had any pimples on the area what lasers is best for this? i've tried microneedling and it hasnt helped

When dents or craters appear on the skin without a history of active acne in that area, it's important to assess for underlying causes such as volume loss, prior subclinical inflammation, or even early scarring from past skin trauma. If microneedling hasn’t provided improvement, more intensive resurfacing or regenerative treatments may be appropriate.

For texture irregularities like these, fractional ablative lasers—such as CO2 or Er:YAG, often yield the most dramatic results by stimulating collagen remodeling at deeper levels. Another effective option is radiofrequency microneedling (like Morpheus8 or Secret RF), which combines the benefits of microneedling with thermal energy to target skin laxity and depressions more precisely.

In some cases, subcision combined with dermal fillers or biostimulants (like Sculptra) can help elevate the depressed areas and restore smoother contours. The right approach often depends on skin type, severity, and distribution of the dents, so a personalized plan is key for best outcomes.
