There are variety of different types of YAG lasers. Generally speaking, a YAG laser would be good at improving pigmentation, but are less effective at treating moles and freckles. They may have no place in the treatment of moles or freckles depending on your anatomy and the type of laser.I hope this helps

The Yag/Alexandrite laser is a great resurfacing treatment that will work to quickly eliminate deeper brown spots (sun spots) or pigmentation. Please have a consultation with a board-certified doctor to see what treatment is best for you. Depending on the selected course of treatment downtime can vary from two to five days. The right laser can help erase those spots over the course of several treatments. But keep in mind that your spots will reappear if you expose your skin to the sun. Please wear sun protection.
