Nose thread lift: after 9 months will my nose will be flat again?

Question

I just did my thread lift yesterday, was told it could last 1-2 years but research abt it and stated threads dissolved within 6-9 months, does that means after 9 months my nose will be flat again? Also my nose tip looks bigger than before, pls advise. Now my nose looks even weirder than before.

Dear mb.x,Thank you for your question. Nose thread lifting can be done with different types of threads which have different absorption profiles. . A commonly use material is polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are 100% bio-compatible and absorbable by our body, and they are meant to last 1-2 years. The threads are placed under the skin to elevate the nose bridge and tip while stimulating collagen formation to provide sustainable lift for the nose. With stimulation of collagen in the nose, some permanent lifting can be expected. It is not unexpected to have swelling after insertion of threads, but do check in with your doctor if you feel that the swelling is lasting unusually long. Some of the complications that are related to threads include infections, scars at the insertion of the thread, as well as migration or extrusion of the threads. I hope this answers your question.
