Is this Folliculitis/Furuncles /Carbuncles? (Photos)

Itchy and inflamed for 6 months on scalp. Rapid hair loss and getting worse. Tends to scratch off skin flakes with multiple hairs in the center of flakes. Sometimes yellow crust drops off too. I've taken 2 kinds of antibiotics and had a small surgery to remove bump on head but bump reappeared again after awhile. I've spent 500 already and was disappointed in GP as it wasn't healed. Please advise.

Minoxidil can be applied wherever follicular miniaturization is occurring. One must never exceed the recommended dose. If you truly feel you are thinning in the sides and donor area, ask your dermatologist if you could have DUPA (diffuse unpatterned alopecia).

If you truly have a scarring alopecia then it is unlikely significant hair regrowth will occur. Scarring alopecias destroy hair follicle stem cells which prevent regrowth in most areas that are affected. I would need to know more about your story and see the scalp up close myself to determine t...

It really depends on the cause of your scab. There are hundreds of reasons. Scabs from a bug bite are likely to grow. Scabs from an autoimmune blistering condition may not. Continue close follow up with your dermatologist.
