It is too early to know whether or not the hair in the area will grow back.We need to allow enough time for the steroid to work, if it does not work within 3-4 months then a consultation with a hair loss specialist might be indicated.

Hi, It's too early to tell if your hair will regrow.  It sounds like you had a seborrheic condition that led to your picking at a scab.   Generally, if not too traumatized the hair can regrow, but it will take longer than 2 weeks for it to enter its growth phase again.  If you want, you can supplement the process with PRP injections which would help boost the hair back into its growth phase.  If conservative therapies do not work, NeoGraft FUE hair transplantation would be fairly easy and affordable based on the pictures you are showing, and this would be a permanent solution as long as you treat the underlying condition that creates scabs, and you avoid picking them!  Hope this helps :)  Best, Dr. Giordano

It really depends on the cause of your scab. There are hundreds of reasons. Scabs from a bug bite are likely to grow. Scabs from an autoimmune blistering condition may not. Continue close follow up with your dermatologist.

If you constantly picked on a single area in the scalp, you may have picked out the hair in that area.  If it will regrow, you will know in 6 months or so
