Answer: Improving Redness--peels, lasers, microneedling/prp I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. I like a combination approach, using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V), peels and microneedling/prp. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Recommend doing the Vbeam laser to defuse redness Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: What can you do for redness on your nose? Whether you have rosacea or just small blood vessels on your nose, one of the most effective treatments is IPL or intensed pulse light treatment. This treatment will help reduce the redness in the area by eliminating the blood vessels that have formed across your nose. If you have large vessels, a cautery or sclerotherapy treatment can also help reduce their size prior to IPL treatment. Most patients will need 3-5 treatments performed every 2-3 weeks.

Answer: Redness on nose that won’t go away? Thanks for your question and the photo. Make an appointment with a board certified dermatologist and see what is actually going on. Acne just there may be a little unusual, not impossible but it may be something else. Does it get better or worse with anything? What happens when you have a glass of wine, spicy foods, or eat chocolate? All of this is important in determining what is going on. Also, if you touch down on it, does it blanch or go away and then come back? That is another important thing. Then, with the derm, one can determine the cause and then the proper treatment – medical or laser. Find the right derm and they should be able to take care of this for you.

Answer: A second opinion If your general doctor hasn't found a diagnosis or effective treatment then you should consult a dermatologist. If a variant of rosacea there are lot of suppressive treatments. Sometimes low dose oral doxycycline ( if OK with birth control) or IPL can help.
