Rashes after Halo treatment. What went wrong? (Photo)

Hello, I am a 43 years old Asian. I recently have halo done. I didn’t see my sun spots removed nor pores being shrunk which I wanted to see the result. But the complexion of the skin was brighter. Then my esthetician asked me to apply melanin, and my face started breaking out with rashes. They look more like chicken pox with liquid filled head. They itchy and burn. I also see few scratch marks on my chin and lower cheeks. What did go wrong? My bf said I looked bad.

Tough to tell from the pics, also would love to know the timeframe after treatment that this occurred.  Might be some mild acne post but tough to tell.  Just call your provider and have them take a look, these are usually short lived complications when treated properly

I find it hard to tell what's going on from your pictures.  This could be anything from acne to various sorts of infections which are possible after any resurfacing procedure.  You didn't mention who did your procedure but I would recommend you see a board-certified dermatologist to get the correct diagnosis and treatment.  Hopefully, that would be the same person who did the procedure.

Go back to the dermatologist who performed this procedure, the use of a mild steroid after facial swabs can reduce the irritation. Banal cream and emollients are recommended. Rashes following HALO are not normal, its usually due to an irritant or allergic contact dermatitis.Easily sorted. Dr Davin S. Lim
