Could the use of Propecia for hair loss cause hormonal imbalance?

Propecia will cause changes in your hormones.  That is why the medication works.  By lowering a hormone called DHT.  Technically this would be an imbalance but this is the intent and why the medication works.

Propecia (finasteride) raises estrogen levels, lowers DHT levels and raises testosterone levels.  Yes it causes a hormonal imbalance and this imbalance is felt to be very beneficial for individuals with hair loss. It is also the source of some potential side effects. If you are concerned about hormonal imbalances from finasteride, please speak to your physician.

Yes, Propecia (finateride) will cause changes in your testosterone levels and possibly other hormones in your body. Propecia blocks DHT which is a very strong hormone and when it does, the body compensates for it.
