Answer: "Best" laser for hair removal. Hello. There are many lasers available and there is no one laser that's "best". The reason is that it depends on the skin type and hair type. Matching the wavelength of the laser with the skin and hair type will yield best results. For example, African or dark African skin types with coarse hair are best suited to the Yag laser (1064 nm). Medium skin types with coarse to medium hair respond well to the Diode (810 nm) laser. Finally, the Alexandrite (755 nm) is for lighter skin types and finer hair. All of these types of lasers have their place in the laser hair removal picture, and the variable is what the patient looks like.

Answer: Best laser for hair removal There is not one laser which is the "best" for hair removal. A lot depends on the color of the hair and your skin color. For people with lighter skin and/or lighter hair, we prefer to use the Lightsheer laser. For people with darker skin, the best and safest laser is the YAG laser. It is also important to look at who is doing your laser treatment. In my office, my aesthetician performs laser hair removal under my direct supervision. She has been performing laser hair removal for almost 20 years so she has the technique down and can choose the best laser for each individual client.Regards,Dr. Ort
