Hello I am considering a breast lift and even made 2 apts and canceled one so far... My issue is concerned about scarring on the breast lift. I recently found the Bellesoma information online and still about 1.5 weeks out from surgery... Is this a better way to go for no scars ? I don't see a lot of information about this ...
Answer: Thoughts on Bellesoma lift Hello and thank you for using RealSelf.com.The Bellesoma lift gives you a scar around the areola and one in the lower crease of the breast. It does not give you a scar from the bottom of the areola to the crease (vertical scar). The website says it avoids the 'unsightly' vertical scar. My response is twofold. First, the vertical scar fades as well as the other scars on the breasts and is not an issue after a woman sees how natural the breast lift looks. Second, there is much more tension on the areola scar with that technique which increases the risk of a wide areola scar. The vertical scar with a standard anchor scar lift allows less tension on the areola repair with thin and flat scars. No one wants unnecessary scars on the breasts. However, it is just so rare for a woman to complain about the scars with a standard lift (anchor scars) when done properly with natural results.Dr Spies

Answer: Thoughts on Bellesoma Lift Hello and thank you for your question. A Bellesoma lift does in fact leave scars as well, the only difference being that it only leaves scars around the areola and the crease of the breast, without the vertical scar connecting the two that creates the "anchor" shape you would see in a normal breast lift. While the scars in a traditional breast do disappear after time, it is understandable if you would prefer to take a different route, and the results from the two operations are comparable. I would recommend going to see a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your concerns about the Bellesoma lift versus a traditional breast lift. Hope this helps

Answer: Concerns about scarring with a breast lift. Thanks so much for your question. I think that based on your photo you would need a lift if you want a "perkier" more augmented look. Your nipple position is towards the bottom of your breasts and the nipples should ideally be more centered in the breast mound. You could have a augmentation without a lift but this would not address any of your current breast droop and will eventually cause even more droop since you would be adding weight to the breasts and they are already droopy. Obviously do not have a lift if the final scarring isn't something that you would be comfortable with at this time. Hope that helps somewhat. I usually use imaging programs so you can see how a lift would look on you specifically.
