Thank you for your question. I would not recommended any type superficial exfoliation to the skin for at least two weeks after an IPL treatment. The skin may still be sensitive the next day and we want to allow the skin to go through the appropriate stages of repair and recovery. The hyperpigmented spots should crust over about 2-3 days after the treatment and I do recommend a topical exfoliating treatment such as Silk Peel Dermalinfusion two weeks after an IPL procedure.
Thank you for your question. You should always ask your provider if they recommend you doing various treatments after a laser.
I recommend following up with your Doctor about the recommended timeline, but this should be fine. We often combine these treatments on the same day. I also recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care recommendations. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme to give improvement. Sun protection is essential. Lasers work best in combination with other treatments like microneedling/prp and other lasers in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello Danlaw,You can treat your skin to a dermaplane at least 7 days after your treatment. You should follow up with your office. Good luck on your results.
No, you have to wait a week (7days) before you can exfoliate the skin. After 7 days most of the pigment will have surfaced and you can remove it with a Dermaplane or other exfoliating treatments. -Med spa Barrington IL

Thank you for your question. IPL will target the pigment in your skin, causing it to appear a few shades darker follow by it sloughing off similar to coffee grounds. This process can take 7-14 days. If after two weeks you still feel as though you have a color or textural discrepancy be sure to...
