Can someone explain to me why you aren’t supposed to breastfeed after receiving air sculpt? I don’t understand if the rationale is because “your body may still change” or there’s some inherent risk to the baby. The latter doesn’t make sense to me physiologically, given as I understand it’s just laughing gas given during the procedure. Would I be safe to nurse a baby 1-2 times a day after the procedure? Or even pump and dump if necessary?

Medications given during the procedure and medications taken after can be transferred through breastmilk and to minimize exposure to the child pump and dump is probably the best approach.

Awake procedures are typically done using local anesthesia, narcotic pain medication, benzodiazepine anti-anxiety medication, antibiotics and possibly nitrous oxide.

Antibiotics are often give them for some period of time after the procedure.

The other medication should be out of the system within 48 hours.

I suggest having an in person consultation at which time you can discuss your concern with the surgeon performing the procedure.
