I have a scar next to my eyebrows which is now as a result of a scar revision surgery 8 years ago. The indentation of the scar bothers me the most rather than the colour. I’m looking for options to disguise and minimise the scar e.g. is there a possibility to revise the scar so it’s closer to eyebrows so can be filled in with eyebrow hair etc
Answer: Indented eyebrow scar Hi Coffeeruby, Your scar would greatly benefit from a series of fractionated ablative laser resurfacing laser treatments (for example, the CO2 laser). It can’t really be repositioned to hide it closer to the hairline without making it appear more noticeable. Hope this helps! Dr. Kiripolsky

Answer: Submission and a resurfacing laser can help reduce the appearance of tis indented scar. Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: CO2 Resurfacing Laser Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. To address the indentation of your scar next to your eyebrows, CO2 laser resurfacing treatments can be an effective solution. CO2 laser resurfacing works by targeting the deeper layers of the skin, promoting the removal of damaged tissue and stimulating the production of new, healthy collagen. This process can help to smooth out the indentation of the scar and improve its overall texture and appearance. By resurfacing the skin, the treatment can reduce the depth of the scar and enhance the surrounding skin, making the scar less noticeable. Given that the color of the scar is not your primary concern, CO2 laser resurfacing focuses on improving the texture and contour, which can significantly help in disguising the scar. I hope this helps and best of luck! I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: For Indented Scars: Subcision To Elevate & Smooth; For Hypopigmentaton & Stitch Tracks: Manual Microneedling Scar revision surgeries, as my regular followers are well aware, carry the risk for the development of hypopigmented stretch scars and tram track stitch marks, especially in areas like the glabella that is subject to a great deal of movement. So sorry, but no surprises here. Subcision can be used to elevate and smooth the scar and manual microneedling (no need for the added risks or expense of RF microneedling) accompanied by the topical application of Rx pigment enhancers can be used to improve the color and superficial texture of the scar and to better blend it with the surrounding normal skin. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist scar treatment specialist. Best of luck.
