Is it ok to stop the invisalign treatment at any point in the refinement stage if I am happy with the placement of my teeth?

Very good question.  Unfortunately, it is a loaded question.  What I mean by that is there are many different answers.  1,  You can do anything you wish.  We are not forcing you to complete the treatment. If you are happy then...2,  I would advise you to complete treatment.  That anterior segment of teeth are very important to your occlusion(bite).  Having correct position of your teeth offer something called mutually protected occlusion.  This means the position of the front teeth help protect the back teeth and the position of the back teeth help protect the front teeth.  Anytime I am in a situation like this I always remember one of my favorite sayings:"There is no right way to do a wrong thing"Just do it correctly, finish it and then move on.I would complete the treatment, finishing all the retainers to help protect your teeth.Remember to always wear your retainer or your teeth can move.Thank you Brett S Silverman DDS, MAGD

Yes, you can stop at any time and have regular retainers ordered from whatever stage you are in or new impressions for a set of 4 Vivera retainers.  I would encourage you to complete your refinement treatment since you have already it this far. However, you must decide what is right for you.It is important to remember that retention is for a lifetime. Be sure to wear your retainers as directed everyday without fail.  That way you can maximize the possibility of keeping your teeth in proper alignment. Best of luck and congratulations on your results! 

I don't recommend it, if you spent money for 100% of the treatment which would make your bite perfect, why do you wish to cheat yourself? YOu may as well get the benefit of perfectly lined up teeth with canine guidance not just canines touching. Sharde Harvey DDS. Ny, NY.
