After a punch hole biopsy (it's been about 4 months), is it normal for a freckle to begin coming back?

I got a punch hole biopsy done June 1, 2015 to remove a suspicious freckle/mole. It was one I'd had my whole life but had recently changed a lot. When a month had gone by without hearing anything I followed up with my doctors office and they said there were no abnormal results. Now it has been 4.5 months since and I just noticed what looks to be a freckle coming back. I would like to know if this can be considered normal or not? I've attached pictures. Hello and thank you for your recent question and photos! Based on the photos you provided I am not sure if the mole is a before or after the punch bx? However anytime a mole re-pigments after being removed it should be excised completely. I would recommend contacting your dermatologist as soon as possible to have this area looked at. Best of Luck!

Superficial biopsies have a finite risk of mole recurrence. If you are concerned about the mole coming back, it may be a good idea to have it recut. Best. Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
