Hello, What sort of procedure would I need to get in order to remove the non-pigmented raised mole on my nose? Would it leave any noticeable scars? More noticeable than the mole itself? What is the average healing time? Is there a change of it coming back? Is there an estimate on cost in the city of Chicago area? Thank you
Answer: Mole removal on the nose Our office specializes in mole removal and these moles are often amenable to hyfrecation and shave biopsy. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Answer: Cosmetic Mole Removal If you are concerned about a mole, or it has symptoms like itching, burning, pain or bleeding, please do not hesitate and have it removed. Please go to a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in mole removal and lasers so you can limit the scarring. This can be treated with multiple different ways, I would avoid surgery. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Non-pigmented mole removal Hello, thanks for the question. In general, I often encourage my patients to keep any non-suspicious moles. There is no way to remove a mole without a scar. A shave removal would probably be your best option, which removes the top portion of the mole to make the countour flat. This leaves you with a circular pink scar, and there is a chance it can be indented (depends on how you heal). As mentioned earlier, there is a chance it can recur with this method. I would not recommend a full excision for this, as the linear scar will be much larger and more noticeable than what you currently have. Healing time is about a week. Visit with your local dermatologist for an idea of costs. Good luck.

Answer: Mole removal Thank you for your question. Generally, moles that have no irregularities are left alone but can be removed for cosmetic purposes. The mole can be shaved off, which would leave you with a circular, slightly indented scar similar to a chicken pox scar and the possibility of the mole returning. The other form of removal would be to surgically excise the mole, which would leave you with a linear scar and no chance of the mole returning. I recommend you consult with a dermatologist regarding the different procedures available for mole removal and the scarring risks and costs. Take care and good luck.
